The N700S is a Shinkansen train that began operation in 2020 and is currently in service on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines.
An improved version of this model will also be introduced on the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen line, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2022, and the train will begin operating under the name 'Kamome.'
