The 12200 series is a limited express train of Kintetsu Railway that was introduced in 1969. Early production cars were equipped with a snack corner, just like the 12000 series, and were affectionately nicknamed 'snack cars.' The snack corner in the leading car was omitted from additional cars, and at the same time, production of the first middle cars for this series began. At one time it was the largest force in Kintetsu's limited express trains, and after several updates it continued to be in service for a long time, but it was retired from regular service in 2021.
