The Kiha 40 series is a general-purpose diesel car of the Japanese National Railways that was introduced in 1977.
The Kiha 40-2000 series was a vehicle for warm climates with a double driver's cab, and was originally painted in a vermilion color known as the capital region color, but from around 1992, the cars for the Hiroshima region were gradually changed to a yellow with cream and gray stripes.
Features
- The Hiroshima color, known as the yellow and cream color with thin gray stripes, is reproduced as it appeared before it was updated
- The H-rubber representation of each window is reproduced in gray
- The underfloor is reproduced with equipment such as the original DMF15 engine
- The front jumper plug can be represented by a choice of hose or plug cover
- The front display section is interchangeable and comes with printed parts for 'Local (navy blue) and Rapid'
- The side indicator lights are installed with clear parts
- Some markings are printed
- The car number and affiliation markings are selectable and a transfer sheet is included
- The head and tail lights and the front display section have an ON-OFF switch
- The headlights are lit by incandescent LEDs, the taillights by red LEDs, and the front display section by white LEDs
- Equipped with a cab interior light that lights up the cab when rearming or between coupling surfaces
- The cab interior light can be turned on by flipping a switch even when the head and tail lights and front display section are not lit when the cab is in the middle
- Sealed self-locking TN coupler is standard equipment
- Able to pass through a minimum radius of R490 (excluding S-shaped linear tracks)
